Adult Electric Scooters for Commuters – 2018

April 9, 2018 by Administrator 2 Comments

Electric scooters have really taken off in popularity in the last few years. They’ve become much more efficient and lighter. Instead of being just toys for children, great adult electric scooters now exist as well.

Electric scooters are now so advanced that they may be a great option for your commute. They are environmentally friendly, easy to ride and recharge, and some of the best options are still very affordable. They can also be a lot of fun – if you are looking for an electric transportation device, you definitely need to take a look at these scooters.

While electric scooters for children can be found for close to $100, most electric scooters suitable for adults start closer to $400. The very high end options can even cost a few thousand dollars. We’ll be taking a look at a few different options at all price ranges.

If you are looking for an efficient and affordable way to make your commute, or just a fun electric assisted method of transportation, one of these adult electric scooters might be for you. All of the electric scooters we’ve reviewed below are designed and built for adults. If you are under 150 pounds, you might want to take a look at some of the electric scooters marketed for children as you can probably save a bit of money.

Swagtron’s Swagger Pro, even with its ridiculous name, is a great middle of the road option for a commuter electric scooter. It has a top speed of around 16 mph with a battery that can take you up to 18 miles on a full charge. It’s carbon fiber and steel build mean it can take a beating and you won’t have to worry about it breaking. It also can fold up, and at an easy to carry 16 pounds it isn’t too cumbersome to carry into your office or on the train.

Swagtron Swagger Pro – Adult Electric Scooter Review

June 20, 2017 by Administrator 2 Comments

Swagtron LogoSwagtron, maker of some of the most popular hoverboards and a couple models of pretty decent and cheap electric skateboards, also has started making electric scooters. They have two electric scooters on the market. Both are very similar – the Swagger and the Swagger Pro. Both of Swagtron’s electric scooters have the same form factor – the Pro model is just a bit faster with better battery life. This review is for Swagtron’s Swagger Pro model.

Swagtron became popular selling well made, reliable, and safe hoverboards when many on the market still had unreliable batteries, manufacturers in China that were impossible to contact, and a host of other problems. Has Swagtron’s experience helped them create a reliable, high quality electric scooter? Read the rest of our review to find out.

Cheap Electric Skateboard Buying Guide – 2017

May 8, 2017 by Administrator 2 Comments

Interested in buying an electric skateboard, but don’t want to spend too much money? Maybe you want to try out an electric skateboard for your commute but don’t want to spend $500 to $1,000 or more right off the bat? Or perhaps interested in the best electric skateboard for a child or pre-teen? We’ve reviewed most of the cheap electric skateboards out there. Keep reading this cheap electric skateboard review to see what AAB thinks are the best cheap electrics and a few runners up.

There are a few popular cheap electric skateboards that we’ve left out of this review. Any electric skateboard that isn’t available for purchase by you today has been left out. A bunch of cheap electric skateboards popped up on Kickstarter and Indiegogo over the years, but many aren’t available yet. Some that are available either didn’t live up to expectations or still have production problems. All of the cheap skateboards we found and reviewed are available now for purchase. Maybe some of those crowd funding projects will turn into really awesome and affordable electric skateboards, but since many have had years of production delays we didn’t bother to review any electric skateboard you couldn’t go buy today.

When buying a cheap electric skateboard, there are a few things to keep in mind. All of the boards we reviewed are available for under $400, and most are closer to $200. You definitely won’t get the same quality level compared to some of the highest rated electric skateboards out there, which can reach $1,500 or more.

Still, there are plenty of reasons to stick with one of the cheaper electric boards we reviewed, besides just the price. After reviewing these boards, we came up with the best cheap electric skateboard for kids, for your commute, and then the best entry level board if you just want to try one out. We also included a couple runners up, so keep reading to check out our full cheap electric skateboard review!

Swagtron, maker of hoverboards and electric scooters, also has a couple electric skateboard models available. The full name for this board is the Swagboard NG-1 NextGen Electric Skateboard. The Swagboard is probably the cheapest board you can find, available as of this review for around $200. Companies like Boosted are trying to make the best board possible, using the best available parts and materials, the Swagboard is on the opposite end of the spectrum. Can Swagtron make a reasonable product at this price? We took a look hoping to find out! Read on to find the rest of our Swagboard review.
